Conference COUNTRY, A WORLD MUSIC? by Elsa GRASSY
Dusty and Stones are two country musicians from the African kingdom of Eswatini. When they are invited to record their songs in Nashville, Tennessee, they embark on an unexpected pilgrimage to the original cradle of their musical repertoire. Dusty & Stones is a documentary road movie that explores the often misunderstood cultural roots of country music.
Following the screening, Elsa Grassy, Senior Lecturer in American Studies at the University of Strasbourg, will host a conference to unveil a more inclusive side of the history of this American musical genre.
