Immersive audiovisual concert based on traditional Tunisian music
In his solo project Aichoucha, Khalil Epi invites us on a journey through an immersive audiovisual show combining electro-acoustic music and a panoramic projection on 3 270° screens of a film he shot himself during a trip across Tunisia, tracing the traditional music that still exists today. The aim of the project is to explore traditional and popular Tunisian music in the different regions of the country. The show takes the form of a performance in which the artist-musician interacts and accompanies on stage the sounds and music of a documentary video, itself the product of fieldwork. On stage, accompanied by his machines and synthesizer, he harmonizes and electrifies the filmed images, making the music dance to the rhythm of the images.
About Khalil Epi
Between North African electronic music and an uncompromising rhythmic approach, Tunisian producer and multi-instrumentalist Khalil Epi has been deploying plural aesthetics for over a decade. He’s decided not to choose: soundtrack for an animated film, choreography, orchestration for the Reims Opera, or the release of his long-awaited project with singer Widad Mjama on the Moroccan Aïta repertoire, as well as his solo project Aïchoucha.
