Marie-Pierre Duhamel-Muller, former managing director of Cinéma du réel and a leading figure in French cinema, passed away on June 19, 2023.
A loyal friend of the Festival des 3 Continents, Marie-Pierre joined us every November, as curious about today’s cinema and its youth as she was eager to revisit a long-lost film and discover new ones. We loved having her by our side, and her mischievous look and irrepressible girlish smile showed how much she enjoyed being there, lending a helping hand if needed, and sharing her knowledge and passion… She was our friend, and we know how true and precious that was.
