In the Bambara village of Farabougou, south of the Sahara, the rainy season comes to an end. Although the crops seem promising, the villagers are worried as the local sorcerer has predicted terrible droughts and pires. For Sidy, a young water and forestry engineer who has lived for some time in the village, it is the beginning of a long journey in search of a plant, known for its seven healing powers, the seventh of which has been lost over the years. His quest takes him into the unknown and mystical world of the Bambara society and culture.
