A town anchored in a nest of mountains is the setting for a curious journey. Without knowing where he comes from, a black man appears one day carrying a canoe on his head with a parrot as his travelling companion. He follows the course of the city’s polluted waters. True to his aim of going to the sea, he accepts neither the advice nor the mockery of the people he meets and sails through an urban space made up of squalor and disorderly modern architecture.
This journey, which could be a simple documentary, takes on a poetic dimension through the incorporation of unexpected fantastical situations, representations of marine phantasmagorias that feed the obsession of the sailor.
