Mongolia, 1960s and 1970s. An ordinary Mongolian rural family leads a natural way of life. Every autumn, the Mongols prepare and store idesh, a meat which will be used during the long and severe winter. The main character of the story is passionately in love with his wife. Whenever he can, he makes drawings and sculptures of her. But their quiet life is destroyed by the arrivai of Soviet tanks which come to “protect” Mongolia. But instead of protection, they bring cruelty, violence and blood to the Mongolian steppes.
The wife is raped by a group of Soviet soldiers. Yet one of them helps her and they exchange their talismans to maintain their love…
