Amalia, a beautiful, rich young woman is desired by many of the men of a Mexicain village during the 19th century. One of them is killed by Ricardo in defense of Amalia’s honor. Amalia’s father wants his daughter to marry a lawyer, Luis Felipe. But she wants to marry Ricardo, who has managed to get rich by discovering a silver mine. At the door of the temple where they are to be married. Amalia’s father kills Ricardo. Luis Felipe represents the father at the murder trial. Amalia decides to testify against her dead fiance in order to save her father, but he commits suicide during the trial. Amalia is left alone with her memories of Ricardo.
