Coral Fabre is a lonely nurse with two small children. In love with actor Charles Boyer, her sexual longing drives her to contact, through the “lonely hearts” pages of a newspaper, another solitary soul in search of company, Nicolás Estrella. He turns out to be a cheap seducer with a hairpiece, who goes after lonely women to rob and kill them. Coral falls hopelessly in love with Nicolás and leaves her profession and children behind to follow him.
