Cecilio B. de Milho wants to make a film out of the life of Helen of Troy in the style of the great Hollywood films. He hires an ancient history professor as artistic adviser. The national sluggishness and the studio’s old habits, as well as the irresistible charm of the tropics and some of the female cast, will change the respectable learned man’s point of view. He will eventually approve of the film as a frantic home-made carnival.
