How Much I Love You

How can one show and allow men to talk about their love for other men in a society in which homosexuality is still punished by imprisonment ? The combined choice of overexposure and haziness works here in a subtly dialectic manner. The lighting illuminates as much as it envelops and conceals while the haziness makes the presence even stronger in the frame and guides the insistent nature of our gaze. As for words, each piece of testimony resonates with the image itself in order to better reveal what, in homosexual love, is common to every form of love: seduction, jealousy, faithfulness, complicity, initiation.
