A Wife Confesses
(Tsuma wa kokuhaku suru)

A young widow is on trial for the murder, in a mountaineering accident, of her husband, who had been a brutish older man. Her marriage had been bitterly unhappy and she was in love with his young colleague, Koda.
The conflict between her impulses of self-sacrifice and self-preservation becomes apparent as her emotional life is rawly bared to the judge, jury and curious public.
