Born in Japan of Korean parents, Chung Nam is a taxi driver in his mid-thirties who
works in Tokyo. He is not married and lacks eagerness regarding work. His mother,
Yong Sun, is a very active woman who runs a Filipino bar. She wants her son to marry a Korean woman but he won’t listen to her. Chung Nam has colourful characters as colleagues: Ampo, a vétéran of the Self-Defense Forces; Osamu, a stutterer whose wife ran away; Semba, a homosexual; Hoso, a punchdrunker; Hassan, an Iranian. One day Chung Nam meets Connie who works in his mother’s bar. They begin to live together but his mother does not approve. he taxi company runs into debts, Yakuza gangsters start interfering and Chung Sams colleagues get into all sorts of trouble…
