Beirut, today. Mehdia and Ahmed – a young cleaning woman born in Ethiopia and a Syrian refugee – are in love in a city that is overwhelmingly hostile towards them. The two lovers meet in secret, lose sight of each other, meet up again, while a strange arm wound that Ahmed suffered in his war-torn country continues to fester. As his physical condition deteriorates, the couple decide to flee. Wissam Charaf’s second feature film diffuses a supremely sensual power in a world prey to violence.
