Duch, Master of the Forges of Hell

In the name of the proletarian truth that had to be revealed at any cost, Duch, the director of prison S21, sent out orders from his office, for the interrogation, torture and execution of individuals. Facing the camera, Duch delivers his story of his years in office, when he sought to disseminate the regime’s ideology. Being incapable, as he says, of torturing and killing, he is content to teach the theory and monitor the results achieved. In this feature, use is made of an exceptional dispositive, which involves filming the enemy, letting him speak, and gathering even his tiniest expression of remorse. CB
