Yasubei, a ronin (a samurai with no master), now earns his living as a common fighter. A thoughtful uncle advises him to behave himself and keep on the path of the samurai, without leading an easy and fameless life made only bearable by drinking and a gang of ne’er-do-wells. Yasubei proves unable to save his uncle on the day when he is killed in a duel. He decides to take his revenge… and will be greatly rewarded for it.
