The famous Danish Cph Dox festival brings together two filmmakers, one European, the other from a “Third-World” country, in view of their co-directing a film to be produced by this institution. Moguillansky discusses the project on the phone with the Swedish director Sandlund. Initially, they seem to agree to make a film about Victoria Benedictsson, who is then gradually replaced by Leandro N. Alem – both of whom committed suicide. On the pretext of shooting the commissioned film, the director and his crew travel to Misiones in search of an ancient 17th century treasure. In a light comic tone, the film delivers some pertinent comments on colonialism and patriarchy in the world of cinema, as well as occasional comments on national politics and a few cinephile quotations.
