This film is based on a real story and on journalist José Sanchez Flores’s chronicle. Dionisio Diaz, a young child from Treinta y Tres, died as he was trying to save his little sister from a criminal.
In 1929 when Carlos Alonso started shooting this film, he could not imagine it was to become the most popular film in the history of Uruguayan cinema.
