Jun-Sub, a famous middle-aged writer, learns that bis mother bas died. At the traditional Korean funeral, the guests don’t seem saddened by the death of this woman who had been senile for the past five years. Family conflicts surface when Yong-Soon, a grand-daughter out of wedlock, shows up for the first time in 13 years after leaving the house with stolen money. A reporter at the funeral investigates the family to interpret Jun-Sub’s literature in a new light.
