Nawal is forced by circumstances to sacrifice herself although she is still a young woman. She marries a much older man who has created “traditions” for himself and which he strictly observes. He leads a humdrum, austere and rigid life, even at home. Nawal gives birth to a boy. In her husband’s eyes, her task is over. From now on, all he can think of is achieve his own ambition. For years Nawal suffers from a lack of affection. Then she meets love, which her husband discovers. Faithful to tradition, discipline and the law, he won’t get divorced. Yet the “measures” he has taken against his wife make her go even further towards true love. Will Nawal remain faithful to her duty as a wife or will she answer the call of love?
