In present-day Bangkok Pu, a misfit young woman bas been dreaming of her dead mother. It is a recurring dream about her mother building a bouse. One day Pu meets a fortune-teller who tells her that if the dream continues, her father will die when the bouse is completed. Her father, a playboy, is a karaoke regular. He spends every night at his favorite karaoke bar singing, getting drunk, and having a good time with the ladies. At this karaoke bar, he meets a woman of his fantasy called Yok. Yok is a high-class lady of the night who “belongs” to Toeng, a polite and soft-spoken young Chinese mafioso always surrounded by 6 or 7 hitmen. The youngest of them is Noi, a half-Thai, half-Caucasian boy. He is a product left behind by an American soldier who had a good time with a Thai woman during the war. His dream is to save enough money and learn enough English to go to America (maybe to find his father? Who knows?). Noi is a regular customer at a nearby Seven-Eleven store, where Pu hangs ont with her only friend. Noi has a crush on Pu, but is too shy to ask her out. Pu cannot stop her dream of the house, while her father’s relationship with Yok brings him one piece of bad luck after another.
