A stranger is found unconscious on the river bank of a sleepy old  village. A mad girl, whose lover has gone on the war front, comes to the stranger so he can read her letters sent by her lover . In the end, police finds this stranger as a murderer and arrests him but not before he reads the final letter from the front where the lover  has been killed.
