A murderer is looking for a room. In a monotone but poetic voice he tells the young real-estate agent what he wants. The woman gives mechanical responses. Her face does not show any expression – like a No mask. They do not exchange another word on their endless journey in empty trains. They pass by vast areas of houses with dilapidated, cold, noisy, impersonal rooms and eventually end up in the ruins that the economic boom has left behind in Tokyo. None of the rooms meets with his request for peace…
