Fuera de Juego tells the story Juan who is a lower-class young man from Ecuador who dreams of emigrating from his country. He tries to find the money he needs to transform his dream into reality and ends up involved in criminal activity, pushed by desperation and the social, economic and moral collapse of his environment. His shyness and unrequited love, combined with the poverty of his family and the general corruption, all bring Juan to the point of committing crimes to get the money he needs to achieve his golden illusion: abandon Ecuador and try his luck on another continent.
