In Brazil during the Eighties, current problems are highlighted through a family situation. The father is both a traditionalist and paternalist father and trade union leader. The son is opposed to his father’s trade unionist policies and accuses the trade unions of being responsible for their current poverty. His girlfriend is much more responsive to social injustices. The mother endeavors to maintain the family together in spite of her husband’s trade union responsibilities. The family brakes up.
