The future belongs to them: Paolo studies medicine, Leon sociology and Leticia architecture. They are young and intelligent: the only thing that they lack is money.
The intrepid Paolo becomes friends with a patient, Rosalia, who is strug- gling alone against leukaemia. The three friends decide to help her and go to visit her sons in a Rio favela. This marks the end of their dreams as they fall into a vicious circle of violence and corruption.
