Quincy and his friends live in Harlem, skip school, wan- der the streets or loaf about at home, and sometimes shoplif hip-hop LPs. One of his friends, Bishop, tired of running from the police and the gang of Puerto Ricans, wants to take action and prove he has « juice» – in other words, show that he knows how to act like a tough guy. Quincy sees his ambitions of being a DJ fall apart when Bishop enrols them in a plan for a hold-up. Made by the cinematographer of Spike Lee’s first films, Juice give the famous rapper Tupac Shakur his first film role. MM
