In the ruins of post-war Japan dominated by the black market, five prostitutes, Sen, Mino, Roku, Machiko and Maya swear never to have sex except with their clients. Machiko breaks her oath and is tortured by the four other girls. They meet Shintaro, who is pursued by the police for having attempted to kill an American soldier. The five girls take a liking to him and decide to hide him.
