In a small village of the Green Island, in the South Seas, there is a well-known cabaret where Paula the beautiful dancer can be seen. She is nick.named “the goddess of Tahiti”. Alfredo, an outlaw wanted for murder, hides in her dressing room. Paula protects him and helps him to escape to the Black Forest, where he joins a gang of smugglers led by the mythical Comrade Sylvestre, a rebel leader. Alfredo and Paula fall in love with each other.Unfortunately, Alfredo is an army captain assigned to spy on the rebels. He sets up an ambush to Comrade Sylvestre who then dies in Paula’s arms. The whole gang is determined to avenge for their leader. The army is on their trail. Paula is taken prisoner after she has replaced Silvestre, actually her brother. Although pregnant by Alfredo, she is sentenced to death. She is eventually declared innocent and her brother’s revolt is recognised as being justified. Paula can now start a new life with Alfredo and their son.
