In the provinces of China, the roads are unsafe and convoys are often attacked. Lei Li, a young and proud swordsman, is accused of carrying out the latest attack. In spite of the lack of evidence and his denial, he must cleanse his honour of such suspicion by fighting Master Lung, the three-branch flail expert. Faced with Lung’s skill, Lei Li’s lack of experience forces him to admit defeat. Lei Li must cut one of his arms off and give up the sword. Lung thus manages to get rid of a rival who could have endangered his reputation. Now cripple, Lei Li earns a living as a waiter in an inn where he learns humility and how to juggle with one arm. Meanwhile, the reputation of a new master, Chin Chung, starts spreading among swordsmen and threatens Lung’s. With the help of the men from the Tiger Fort, Lung sets a trap for his new challenger.
