The young filmmaker Amir sets out to see his dying mother at the other end of the country. For a short while, he leaves his job, his wife and his son. As he travels, old memories are sometimes awakened. At other times, buried fears and desires surge up. And he experiences a troubling inner journey.
As the alter ego of the filmmaker Darejan Omirbaev, Amir wends his way through the harsh and flamboyant landscapes of Kazakhstan in order to find himself and to keep advancing along that other path, the path of creativity.
