Francisca, Juliana, and Sara are sisters. When their parents are murdered, Francisca, the eldest, is eighteen. She becomes the head of the Miranda’s family and is known as « Tigra ». When she is drunk, she chooses a “tamer” and no one dares refuse to obey her. Juliana knows why Sara must remain a virgin. Masablanca, the black medicine man, had pronounced that Sara’s virginity was the only possible salvation for the sins committed by her older sisters. On the pretext that Sara is crazy, Francisca and Juliana prevent even their lover, Ternerote, from going near her. When Clemente Suarez falls in love with Sara and wants to marry her, Tigra refuses on the grounds that Sara is crazy. Sara is caught trying to run away and her sisters lock her up. Clemente Suarez goes to the police and Sara’s situation becomes a matter of life or death.
