Sabra, even at ten, and in spite of the strict separation of traditional male and female roles, preferred boys games. Her mother informs her about her future role as a woman, but also tells her about the many sacrifices she has made in the course of her own life. Sabra knows that she ‘ll never be able to accept this social structure. She continues her studies but also suffers from discrimination against women in the city. She decides to leave and burns all her books in order to leave no trace of herself. She leaves to join her brother who lives somewhere in Europe.
