The initial title card that says “Ituzaingó 1994” is much more than a space-time marker for the film. It is the invention of a symbolic cinematographic territory that will endure throughout Perrone’s body of work. The streets, the houses, the squares, the video store, and the magazine stand are the places through which the young people walk in this portrait of a neighbourhood. They are creatures imprisoned in a continuous present without life projects. The social and political helplessness of the protagonists is as evident as the deep sense of friendship that protects them. Filmmaker and surveyor, Perrone first had to measure and trace the limits of Ituzaingó in order to know how to film it in the years to come. RK
