Gholam Ali, the carriage driver, loves Zinat Sadat, who is now an old woman. They were in love when they were young, but they both got married to other people. Now that they are both widowed, they decide to get married. Zinath’s son is opposed to this marriage, but he is in love with Gholam Ali’s daughter. In order to marry the daughter, he ends up consenting to Gholam Ali’s marriage to his mother.
