The Elephant Keeper

In the north of Thailand, from where most of the World’teak wood comes, Boonsong has just been discharged by a sanctioned timber company which no longer required the use of his elephant. Boon- song’s livliehood has always been linked to his elephant, which is virtually considered as a member of the family. So essential is his elephant that Boonsong even borrows money from Hok, a corrupt Chinese businessman, to buy special medicine for the animal. Hok turns out to be the main investor behind the illegal operation.
