A Japanese family drifts through life, scraping by on the money that it extorts from car-drivers: the young son throws himself in front of vehicles in a sufficiently skilful manner to avoid injury, but faking a serious accident: the drivers pay to avoid having charges brought against them. The father is arrested in the end. A film that, based on actual facts, reveals a poignant side to the social reality of Japan.
