The Flight of the Bee

Anor, a primary school teacher in his forties, lives in Ashit, a small rural village in Tadzhikistan. Building a toilet beneath Anor’s fence, a wealthy neighbour adds insult to injury with a daily routine of peeping at Anor’s wife. The outraged teacher quits his work to build a toilet right in front of the home of the village prosecutor, who refuses to do anything about the peeping. The villagers jeer at him but Anor continues to dig the hole. But pressure mounts and a weary Anor finally gives up. However, when he returns to the site, he discovers water in the hole, making it the first well to be found in the village…
