Returning to work for the Shaw Brothers in 1972 after having left ten years earlier for Taiwan, Li Han-hsiang begins his filmography of a long series of erotic comedies, some of which met with a large box-office success. These inaugural Legends of Lust with their trilogy of stories may well be, in their own way, sorts of moral tales. JB
