What does military occupation mean? This is the overarching question that Avi Mograbi endeavours to answer through the example of the first fifty-four years of operations by the Israeli army in the Palestinian Territories. The film gathers various testimonies from the archives of “Breaking the Silence”, an organisation of veteran soldiers from Tsahal that have taken it upon themselves to reveal to the Israeli public the inner workings and violence of the occupation machine (its logic, its organisation, its methods). And drawing on the military’s daily actions, the film recounts the abuses and crimes perpetrated for the sole purpose of annexing Palestine little by little. JB
