Street Angel

In the slums of Shanghai during the 1930s, Chen, a young trumpet player falls in love with Xiao Hong, a young exile from Japanese-occupied Manchuria. Chen and his friends help Xiao Hong and her sister Xiao Yun, a prostitute, to escape the local mob. But the mobsters find them again. Xiao Yun helps her younger sister to escape at the expense of her own life.
