Footsteps Disappear on the Horizon

According to tradition and her mother-in-law’s demand, Jaukhaz, a young woman, leaves her father’s home. Despite her lack of feelings for her husband, she decides not to break away with tradition. Jaukhaz lives with her husband and his parents in a remote settlement. They graze the herds of the kolkhoz. Theirs is the shepherds’ austere and monotonous life: they have to feed the cattle ans sometimes, when the sun shines through, the cows have to be taken to pastures. Winter is silent, even frightening. One day, Jaukhaz finds true love. She realises how difficult it is to live both according to tradition and to one’s own feelings…
