A Geisha

Eiko, a young woman from the country, meets Miyoharu in Kyoto. Miyoharu, the best friend of Eiko ‘s mother, who died recently, agrees to teach Eiko the art of a geisha. For Eiko ‘s first «meeting», she is sent to Okimi where Kusuda finding her attractive, is also interested in Miyoharu and wants to know her status. Miyoharu is under pressure from Okimi to repay money he has lent. Kusuda manages to get Okimi to agree to Eiko, who is fiercely independent, becoming his personal geisha and to Miyoharu, who is more submissive, serve in lieu of an exchange of money between him and Kanzaki, who is president of an large company.
This arrangement implies trips to Tokyo, which makes Miyoharu suspicious, but Eiko is overjoyed. Soon, they both lose their illusions : Miyoharu is obliged to spend the night with Kanzaki and Eiko with Kusuda whom she wounds when he tries to rape her. In the hospital, Kusuda is furious that the two women did not stick to the plan. Miyoharu and Eiko are rejected and find themselves without clients. In order to reimburse Okimi and to get rid of Eiko’s father who is asking for money, they become geishas again.
