Lambusca, without a profession, but attracted to the big city of São Paulo, leaves his home in a poor area in the Norteast of Brasil. He leaves behind friends and family in the hope of finding work and making money. At São Paulo, he is unprepared for the cold and the first person he meets, a man who pretends to be blind, steals his money and papers. This is the beginning of a series of problems due to the abrupt cultural change.
