The half-meter incident

The film follows the life of a young tax clerk who lives in a working-class neighborhood and takes the bus to work every day. It is during his many journeys that he falls in love with a young girl, just as the 2nd Arab-Israeli war is breaking out. Neither the war nor the nationalization of the economy could alter this love. The war ends with Syria’s defeat, and it’s at this point too that the girl decides to break up with him. The employee experiences difficult times. He meets an old friend, now a shopkeeper, who advises him to live from day to day, without worrying about his conscience or principles.
