The shadow of the Caudillo
(La sombra del caudillo)

Mexico in the 1920s. General Jimenez is elected president. Jáuregui tells Aguirre he must put him in prison to stop a rebellion. Aguirre is sent to jail in Toluca, under the protection of general Elizondo, and thinks he is safe. But Elizondo betrays him. Aguirre and other prisoners are taken to the road to Toluca and shot dead. Only a wounded Axkaná manages to escape.
