Los muertos

Vargas is released from prison. We know nothing about how he came to be there, nothing about his past. On a boat, down meandering rivers in the heart of a wilderness that becomes ever larger as the story is stripped bare, each of Vargas’ gestures recalls the primitive experience of a long-gone but still inhabited world. The movement is twofold, driven towards a distant but familiar source : Vargas has survived… The film establishes Lisandro Alonso as one of the great talents of young Argentine cinema.
