Even when the world collapses, there always remains a beautiful thing : youth. A-yu, a young teenager, the daughter of a fish-ball seller, has only one passion in her life: theatre. A-jin is young musician. While studying in Japan, he fell in love with a Japonese girl he followed all the way to Shanghai. He is now returning to Japan.A solitary character, he always keeps his guitar with him. A-yu and A-jin meet and fait in love with each other, but A-yu’s father wants her to marry a doctor’s son, a good match. This is the year 1945. Taiwan is occupied by Japan. The allied forces bomb Taipei. Some of the inhabitants leave the city, the lovers are separated but keep writing to each other…
