Ren is a youngster whose parents have just divorced. Her father moves out and she has to adapt to a new way of life. She goes through a rebellious phase, which will help her really grow up and question the adult world with a mischievous and precocious maturity.
Sômai returns to his favourite theme, perspicaciously exploring the changes that come about during early adolescence. The story adopts Ren’s point of view, and materialises the complexity of the relationships that grow up around her. The film’s atmosphere reveals an intense underlying pain, without however weakening the forcefulness of Sômai’s filmmaking: a beaming energy that we find here in the face of young Ren.
