Alicia, a famous singer, goes to a Chinese casino with her manager. Despite the cheating of the Chinese, the manager plays and wins. As he is leaving the casino, a group of Chinese men kill him. Scared, Alicia runs away and decides to keep the murder secret. The following day, Alicia meets Eduardo, a conductor and composer who writes his own songs. They fall in love with each other and get married. Meanwhile, the dead manager is found and the Police start looking for the murderer. Alicia and Eduardo lead a happy life; they have one child. But Alicia gets a dancing contract in Brazil and, with a broken heart, leaves her son and husband. While she achieves success in Brazil, the murderers are found but they charge Alicia with the killing. The dancer is immediately wanted by the Police. Martinez, Alicia’smanager in Brazil, offers to hide her. In an isolated house, Martinez behaves rudely towards her. Alicia rejects him, he sets fire to the house. In Mexico, Alicia is believed to be dead. In Brazil, she has in fact survived the fire but she is disfigured. She keeps on dancing with a mask. Alicia goes on a tour in Mexico and finds out that Eduardo remarried with Margarita, her childhood friend, who is looking after their child. Desperate, she kidnaps her son but gets arrested. Armando, a friend of the couple’s, discovers who she really is. Eduardo visits her and asks her to forgive him. But it is too late, out of sacrifice Alicia leaves her husband and child with Margarita before going away.
