Pöng

by LEE Doo-Yong

During the 1920s at the time of the Japanese occupation when there were shortages of everything, a very pretty young woman, An-hyop, is married to a vagrant gambler and lives in an isolated village. In order to survive during the long absence of her husband, she gives herself to all the men in the village. She refuses her favors only to one man, Sam-tol, the servant of an old neighbour. When the husband returns after a long absence, Sam-Tol takes his revenge by informing him of his wife’s behavior.
